Japo DueGrammi and the Barolo Dhaara received the prestigious Double Gold, the top-rated accolade assigned by Gilbert&Gaillard, the French group that has been promoting quality wines for over 30 years and has offices in 22 different countries. Japo DueGrammi was awarded a score of 90/100, whilst the Barolo Dhaara won a remarkable 92/100. Below, the tasting notes of both wines:
Japo DueGrammi: Brilliant and translucent appearance, tiny bubbles. Pleasant nose with mixed fragrances of spring flowers and white-fleshed fruits. The palate is aerial and characterized by delicacy, precise chiseled aromas, well-rounded effervescence, without superfluity: a beautiful pure spumante.
Barolo Dhaara: Clear garnet color with amber reflections. Irresistible nose combining red fruits, Mediterranean scrub and floral notes. The mouth is rich and concentrated: a wine that expresses with intensity and delicacy its young complex scents. Still firm, already excellent."We are extremely proud of this result," said Gianni Coassin, C&C owner. "We believe in Japo DueGrammi's potential to express the essence of the unique terroir of Valdobbiadene. As for the Barolo Dhaara, what can I say? It's an outstanding wine, the epitome of the best Italian wine-making tradition, and we hope it can be tasted and appreciated in celebrative dinners by more and more customers."
