In the plains international varieties such as Cabernet, Merlot and Pinot Gris from the DOC Delle Venezie and IGT Veneto appellations are grown with excellent results. In the area surrounding <strong>Verona<\/strong>, exquisite red wines are produced, such as Amarone della Valpolicella, Ripasso Superiore and Bardolino. Among the whites, the most popular are the soft Lugana, Soave and Custoza, three DOC wines that pair well with a vast array of dishes.
